Mr. Perfect gets picked up by his boss. They leave for the airport. They get to NYC and miss their connecting flight (no fault of their own, it was a delayed plain out of our town that caused this). They stay in NYC for a few hours, catch another flight to Boston. Spend the night checking things out...
Meanwhile back at the ranch...
The house is a disaster area. There aren't dishes in the sink (a blessing!), but nothing else is put away, the kitchen floor needs sweeping, vacuuming and scrubbing. Both bathrooms need maintaining. The kids room is relatively straight, other than some clothes I've pulled out that need to go to Good Will and some good friends who have little boys that can use these adorable duds! I thought the playroom was clean. I walk in and LOW AND BEHOLD, Mr. Perfect had make a packing mess nightmare right in the middle of the playroom! *sigh* Our room is horrible from a tantrum I threw and left clothing strewn about. Mia's room is a mess, because Wils figured out how to open the closet doors and pull everything out of Mia's mini drawers storage! *double sigh* NOW... all of this wouldn't seem SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad, however... *triple sigh* I got a phone call yesterday evening as I'm sitting down relaxing with my cousin, all 3 children snuggly in their beds. It's my agent... "Lisa, someone called tonight and wants to show your house!" WTH!?! We haven't had ANYONE look at this place in 3 weeks! Now, as soon as my helpmate goes out of town on business, someone is dying to see it? I told my agent ... NO WAY, they can come on Monday or Tuesday, but I've already got the kids in bed and there is no way I can get this placed spiffy by tomorrow! I want it sparkling when someone looks at it, and if they came today it would be tidy at best!
It's tremendously frustrating when Mr. Perfect and I both get lazy! Then the work load seems to triple! Thankfully, I've kept on top of the dishes all week and on top of the sweeping in the kitchen... I try and sweep at least once a day, but sometimes it ends up being a few times a day. Mainly the house needs tidying... but I also want the floors scrubbed, mirrors shined, sinks shined, etc. I just like my house to look perfect when people come to view it. I like all the little things tucked away. I just prefer things to look their best... I mean, we are trying to sell the house, gotta put that best foot forward, right?
So, in a few, I'm taking the kids to my parents house, putting the two youngest down for naps, and then I'm coming back here to get down to business. Thank GOODNESS we worked together this week and got the yard mowed! That's one less thing I have to be worried about! My mom told me, whatever I don't get done this afternoon, she'll assist me with this evening once the kids are in bed. It's nice to have a mom who is willing to help. What sucks though, is that her help often comes with a running commentary on what a poor housekeeper I am. I've NEVER claimed to be good at it, and I would LOVE to be able to PAY someone to come once or twice a week to help keep the house always looking in tip top shape! In June, I just might hire someone to come every 2 weeks, since I do not have to pay Maegan's tuition for school or ballet. I'd also LOVE to hire a professional organizer to get in here and help me and Mr. Perfect wade through our junk and get it organized once and for all. I can't stand disorganization! However, when you get overwhelmed it's difficult to figure out where to start. OK, just wish me luck! I'll get it done, and hopefully they'll love the house and we can put a contract back on one of the first houses we put a contract on... since it is still on the market and they've dropped the price BIG TIME! We shall see what is to happen.
