She's a SOCCER STAR!

It seems we have found Maegan's niche! She loves, and is pretty decent at SOCCER! She's so cute out there on the field with the other kids. She's a bit pushy! She loves to kick that ball! And she stays with it until it's in the goal, if she can! Today she scored 2 goals in a matter of moments! I was one screaming mom! The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining. Our friends showed up, the kids babysitter showed up, Gammy and PopPop showed up. Our friend Pamela captured the goals on video! ROCK ON!

It was a rough start (for me) to the morning. Mia went off just before the alarm, so I had to feed her, then once she was back to sleep, I ran up the stairs and as quietly and gently as I could, I lifted Maegan out of bed, and carried her downstairs. (OK she's pushing 50 lbs. that is NOT easy on the knees.) About 1/2 way down the stairs she "woke up" and said "OH I get to wear my new cleats today!" Yes, that's right, she got new PINK umbros. She's thrilled with them, but would like them better if they were purple.

Today was picture day. So, we were actually up at 6:30 am as opposed to our normal game day 7am! Matt got up and took Maegan on to the field for pictures, while I stayed back and readied the rest of the troops. I also stopped and got a light breakfast for us on the way. When we arrived, we found out they'd started the game EARLY! eek!!! I just happened to get there at the same time as our friends and our babysitter. We all parked together and they helped me unload the car.

NO sooner were we on the field and Pamela pulled out the cam... Maegan scored goal #1. Seconds later, in went goal #2! She was so excited! I think soccer has been very good for her self esteem! Much more so than ballet, which she seems to "tolerate" at best. I do believe ballet will be a thing of the past. My girl likes action! I'm hoping I see tennis in her future. And we may take a Mommy and Me tennis clinic in the coming year. FUN!

BUT, for now, she's my soccer superstar and I couldn't be more thrilled with her performance on the field. It's so fun to see her enjoying herself and feeling good about herself!

Awesome!!!! Noah starts tee-ball this summer. He says he doesn't want to. I hope he doesn't break his mommy's heart and really not play!
