How exciting!!!

OK, as most of you know, my friend Val has her own photography business in Illinois. Well, I live a FAIR ways from Illinois, so I don't get the privi of having her do my children's portraits. But, I'll forever plug Val, because she's amazing talented and ANYONE that has a chance to use her services should hop right on it, and consider themselves BLESSED to have an amazing photographer capturing their memories!

THAT SAID... here where I live, I have this adorable acquaintance, Erika Smith. She used to work with my sister, she actually went on a date with my brother (bless her heart) back in high school, and she used to work at my aunt's Cakery (Weddding/birthday/special occassion cake bakery, called Kalico Kitchen)... SO, I've known Erika for quite a while. Last year, we had a mutual friend get married, and Erika was in the wedding, and so was my Little Princess! Erika adores taking photographs, and she's really good at it. She took several snapshots the day of the wedding. Well, I ran into her last Friday morning before work. She stopped me and told me she has started her OWN photography business. She lives literally five minutes from me! AND then she went on to tell me that she has a website (it's actually a BLOG)... and my Princess is ON IT!!!

I am so excited for her, and she wants to do the newborn pictures of our newest baby, who will be arriving shortly before Christmas. We normally have our portraits done by this amazing photography studio (Hayes and Fisk, The Art of Photography) ... but the baby is being born so close to Christmas (December 13th)... that I know they won't be able to work with us at that point... so Erika is going to do our children's Christmas portraits with Santa. Santa makes a special trip with us to the photographer's studio, but Erika is going to capture pictures of Santa with our children at my parents house in front of THEIR Christmas Tree!!! I can hardly wait. I'm so excited that she is willing to do this. I will probably have her do our announcement photograph as well! :) I'm so thrilled to know that she has started doing this!
