I guess I should take a moment to introduce myself more formally.
I'm Lisa. Welcome to my humble blogging home. I'm 31 and the mother of 2 beautiful babies... Lil Miss Maegan (3 1/2) and Lil Man Wils (7 1/2 months). I'm married to the most wonderful man, aka Mr. Perfect (Matt/Chewie). I married a younger man... and boy is it ever paying off. Besides my children and my savior, he's the best thing that has happened to my life! I guess I'll do a list Purple Valley style .
*My favorite band is Sister Hazel. That is saying a lot, as I love all kinds of music and all kinds of musicians, but there is just something about Sister Hazel that has me hooked. Their personality, the lyrics, the feel good quality to their music, everything just sucks me in!
*I'm a HazelNut! It's the first "fan club" I've ever been a real part of, and they are great! It's like a second family!!! They so rock. They look out for each other and really make you even more excited about the band!
*I love going to concerts. I really love being near the front of the venue. I prefer club sized concerts to any other kind of concert. Big Venues make a concert less personal.
*I was in a sorority in college. It was a local, not nationally recognized, but they are my sisters forever!
*I never graduated university, even though I attended 4 years.
*I love writing novels, but I never let anyone read them.
*I LOVE reading novels. One of my favorite authors is Jane Green! And she just asked me to be her "friend" on myspace. Now that was just TOO cool!
*I have 2 cats, and while I used to love animals, I now see how much mess they make and how much they can destroy in little time. While I still love them dearly... I don't think I will get anymore once these guys are gone. I actually want to enjoy not having fur on everything, cats peeing in the wrong place, etc. etc.
*I detest housework and it shows! I truly need a maid. I watched wife swap with the Pirate and the organizer and I just wanted that organizer to come to my house and HELP ME!
*I've been pregnant 6 times and took a test today and it looks like it's probably a seventh time... not expected and I'm not getting my hopes up, after 4 miscarriages, a positive pregnancy test really means nothing at all.
*I just bought my first minivan, and I LOVE it... never thought I'd say that!
*I LOVE road trips, even with children!
*I adore my husband. I mean it, I adore the man. Just finished talking to him on the phone. How is it, that after 10 years of being together and almost 7 years of marriage, I still get all panicky on the phone talking to him? I even BLUSH sometimes! hahaha... but true!
*I'm overweight, by leaps and bounds, yet I enjoy working out... oh but wait, I like eating, too!
*I'm the youngest of three! I have an older sister and an older brother... how cool is that? I grew up with BOTH!
*I'm a goody two shoes. I won't do anything illegal and I try to please everyone, sometimes neglecting myself and that isn't always a good thing, because you need balance.
*I wish I had a larger home... not because I don't have a great house, I DO! I love my house, it is so cute and fun, and perfect for when we only had ONE child. However, now that we have 2 children and our bedrooms are on different floors, I no longer feel comfortable in our house. Plus I'd like to have some formal rooms so I can do more entertaining.
*I LOVE entertaining. I love having people over for dinner, games, chit chatting, watching tv, whatever! I just love being surrounded by lots of fun people.
*I love to cook! I adore cooking and playing with recipes and making up my own ideas... yet I hate the clean up that follows, so I tend not to do as much cooking as I would really like to do.
*I love the beach. I'll be even more specific. I love the coast of North Carolina. The Outer Banks is my favorite place on earth. Duck, NC is where we went on our honeymoon and we stayed in Advice 5 Cents (Bed and Breakfast)... It was so convenient to the beach, shopping, eating and art galleries. It may not have been exotic, but it was heavenly!
*I love boats. I love being on boats. I love being surrounded by water. I love water and sunshine and the movement of the water under me.
*I love swimming. It's always been something that I love. I'm a water baby at heart. I'd rather shrivel up like a prune in water, then do just about anything else on earth.
*I love SUMMER! I like it HOT! I don't care if it is HUMID! Just give me warmth. Many people complain that it's too hot, and they like winter because you can always put more on, but you can't always take more off in the summer... and my reply is: JUMP IN THE POOL! Or, here's your glass of lemonade, now hush up and enjoy the long days!
*I love surprises. I'm not one of those people who hates being surprised. As long as it a good or sweet thoughtful surprise, I'm all about it! Mr. Perfect is an angel at surprising me. He's so good, it's just uncanny! I'm working on being that good for him. I like surprising people. It makes my heart smile when I can make someone else smile, even if just for a brief second. I love to find an unusual something and know instantly who's day it will brighten. It's just fun to be surprised and to surprise others!
*I can't drink a whole slurpee. Doesn't matter what size it is. I can never drink a whole one. I think they must be too sweet. If there is such a thing.
*I love sweets.
*I love shopping. It's a problem. I love shopping for children's clothing. It's an addiction. I love shopping for expensive children's clothing. I need help.
*I love decorating magazines. Yet, I can never make my house look like the ones in the magazines... no matter how many I buy, I just can't recreate the looks.
*I love art. I love art museums. I love watching Mr. Perfect create art, both graphic and other mediums.
*I love photography. I can snap 300 pictures in a matter of moments. I snap randomly. I don't wait for a perfect shot. Every shot is an opportunity for a priceless memory. I love film and digital.
*I love scrapbooking, yet never have completed a book. I have three started presently.
*I sold Creative Memories for a while. I made no money.
*I'm a stay at home mommy. But I don't think I am very good at it. BUT it's the only job I've ever really wanted more than anything else. Do they have classes on being a better stay at home mommy? I need some classes.
*I'm determined to be organized one day. I fantasize about organized closets. I dream about everything having a place and everything in its place. I want my children to want to be organized. Chaos makes me crazy, yup that's my excuse for being crazy.
*I really miss my cabriolet (VW). It was fun. It was red. It got me stopped by police on more than one occasion. But it never got me a ticket. I had a fun license plate on it, that got me a lot of attention. I had one of my best tans ever when I had that car... and some blonde blonde hair to boot!
*I like getting my brows waxed. And I was scared for so long. I can't wait to go back and have them done again... is that sick or what?
*There is much more to me, I could go on all day doing this, telling you random things about myself. However, I have a few odds and ends I do want to pick up, because my house is clean right now, and I'd like to keep it that way!
OH and I'm a pretty open book, if you have a question, just ask me, I'll be most happy to give you a reply, or even a whole blog post dedicated to answering your questions! I talk a whole lot.
OH and one last thing... I LOVE BEING FROM THE SOUTH! (and I have nothing against anyone from anywhere else, I just love "My South" (check out Drew Copeland's album and listen to the song "My South"... then you'll understand why I love it so much!)
